John Hewson: Project Management Lecturer

John Hewson PMP, MPM, B.Sc. IT (Hons.)

John is a qualified project manager with over 15 years of project and programme experience. He has managed several large business change projects at senior level for a major telecommunications company and has also set up  Programme and Project Management Offices in the public and private sectors.  John holds a Masters Degree in Project Management from the University of Limerick, a Bachelor’s Degree in IT from DCU and a Diploma in Applied Project Management from University College Cork. John has written course material for the Advanced Diploma courses and PMP course and has been lecturing on project management topics for CMI for over 5 years.


Turlough Kieran, MCIPS, MIIPMM

CIPS Purchasing Management Lecturer

Turlough is a procurement professional with 25 years experience in the profession. He has   held senior procurement positions in a range of large blue chip companies and organisations in the public and private sectors, both in Ireland and the UK. Turlough is a graduate of Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS) UK and a member of the IIPMM) He currently lectures for CMI on CIPS Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply in procurement and purchasing topics.


Damien Downes - ACMA, BA (Hons) : Management Lecturer

Damien is a qualified Chartered Management Accountant with a wealth of operational and management experience across a number of sectors.  Currently Damien is undertaking a PhD in Business Strategy with a focus on Business Models and their impact on firm performance. As a result of this research Damien has provided workshops on Business Models for Enterprise Boards, Plato and entrepreneurs. 
Damien lectures in Business Strategy, Business Management, Financial Decision Making, Financial Management and Operations Management   

Having worked in the U.S and the Middle East, Damien brings a wealth of international experience to his lectures.       


Jill Gibson: Event Management & PR Lecturer      

Jill has an indepth knowledge of the event management business and has vast experience in planning, production and execution of large and small scale events Jill now runs her own successful event business . Her Event Company specialises in bespoke event management and offers a complete professional service to the highest standard for clients. For past three years, Jill lectures on the Event Management and Public Relations for CMI. She has Diploma in Public relations and has over 20 years experience in Dublin’s top PR consultancies and event companies.


Dermot Guiney Environmental Management & Environmental Studies Lecturer

Dermot qualified with a Degree in Building Services Engineering from D.I.T., Bolton St. in 1996. He has over twelve years experience in the Irish building services consultancy industry, involved in mechanical and electrical services design, site supervision and project management, and health and safety assessments on a wide range of building projects. Whilst working as an engineer he furthered his interests in Health and Safety, Environmental, Energy and Sustainability issues by qualifying in 2008 with a Masters Degree in Environmental Decision Making from the Open University. He is a lecturer in Environmental Management with CMI.


John Hilland Occupational Health & Safety Lecturer


John is the lead Health, Safety and Environmental Officer for O'Hanlon Farrell Construction. He is pursuing a PgD/MSc; Occupational Safety and Health and holds a BSc: Bachelor of Science in Construction in Building Surveying and Higher National Certificate Building Studies . He has completd the NEBOSH Diploma in Health & Safety. 


Jerome Forde Lecturer in Employee Relation & HR Management 

Jerome is a lecturer at CMI and has over 30 years experience working in HR, and Employee Relations. He currently runs his own consultancy Forde Resolution services.  


Colum Foley  - Logistics & Supply Chain Management Lecturer

Colum has several years experience is logistics, distributution and warehousing. 

He has facilitated courses both on open seminar programmes and for in- house training clients. His background includes over 20 years retail distribution. He lectures on logistics and supply for CMI.


Julia Leo Criminology Lecturer
Julia Leo is a qualified barrister and is attached to the criminal courts in Dublin. She specialises in criminal law and criminal cases. She brings a youthful approach to the study of criminal law and cirminology and her classes are captivating and interesting. 


Adrian McGreevy Advertising & Buyer Behavior Lecturer

Adrian was formerly in Dragon Dens where he gained funding for his start up business Amphibia Sports equipment. He lectures with CMI on Advertising & Buyer Behaviour.


Michelle Flannelly: HR Management Lecturer

Michelle Flannelly has worked for the world’s top companies and in diverse industries. Michelle now runs her own HR consultancy practice working in partnership with clients across key HR issues including; Workforce Planning, Recruitment and Selection, Performance Management, Diversity, Training, Employee Relations, Organisation Change and Restructuring. Michelle is a ‘Chartered Fellow’ of the CIPD and has extensive HR operational and consultancy expertise, of almost 20 years. 



John Schley Garda Sergeant

John is a Police Sergeant and is head of the crime scene investigation unit for a busy police division. He lectures for CMI in the areas of Forensic Investigation and Crime Scene Analysis. 


Bernard Hamill  Project Management PMP

Bernard Hamill, PMP, MgP  Certified Project Manager for a leading international company . Bernard lectures on PMP & CAPM Certification for CMI for the past 2 years. He is an expert on PMI certification and his students consistently achieve high results.



Sean Fox: Health & Safety Lecturer

Sean is a highly qualified Health & Safety professional with excellent organisational, problem solving and team working skills. He holds a BSc in Occupational Safety and Health Management (Level 8) and Diploma in Safety, Health and Welfare at Work. He is currently a Health & Safety Advisor for a County Council, responsible for Health and safety for 1300staff on 15 sites. He lectures on UNIT B wth CMI.


Henry Sheehan GMIIPMM, GIITD, MCIPS, GMec Eng

Purchasing Mgmt Lecturer
Henry has facilitated courses both on open seminar programmes and for in- house training clients. His background includes 22 years in Financial Services working in a number of Senior Procurement & Facilities roles. Henry holds a Post Grad in Education & Training, is a graduate of Procurement & Supply Management & Mechanical Engineering . He also holds a Certificate in Training & Development and lectures on procurement for CMI.



Fiona Mullin: Event Management Lecturer

Fiona currently works as Head of Event Sales for a prestigious 5 star Hotel Resort that played host to several international tournaments. She ran the Event Sales team for 8 years and has organized various types of events. Fiona has worked in the Hospitality industry in Ireland for over 15 years. She has completed 2 degrees 1 in Hotel and Catering Management and 1 in Business Tourism and also has a Masters in Strategic Hospitality Management.



Andrea Mene MSc: Online Marketing Strategy

Andrea has many years of international online marketing experience in Italy, Hungary and Ireland. He has developed multiple online business projects, for personal and professional goals.

His main areas of expertise are in marketing on Search, YouTube, and Export. Andrea holds a degree in Management and a MSc in International Management with CEMS.


Donal D'Arcy: Procurement and Supply

Donal D’Arcy is a procurement and supply chain specialist with over 10 year’s practical experience in the profession.  Donal is currently involved in procurement and supply nationally however also has extensive international experience in global supply chain management.  Donal holds a BA (Hons) in Marketing, an MSc in Supply Chain Management and is a chartered member of the CILT.  He works as a part-time associate lecturer in supply chain and related subjects and also lectures on the CIPS programme for CMI.


Colum Foley: Logistics & Supply Chain Management

 A Supply Chain Expert who twenty six years practical management  experience. 
Colum has lectured for Institutes of Technology Tallaght, City and Guilds, National Training Solutions and DCU. Colum is also  currently Chairman of Dunshaughlin Youths Football Club.



Louisa Meehan: Human Resource Management

Louisa Meehan


Louisa has over 10 years’ experience working in Human Resources within Ireland and the UK in both the public and private sector. She has worked as HR Generalist, HR Business Partner, Change Agent and in HR Project roles.  She  is a chartered member of CIPD.


Angus Fee: Quality Management

Angus is a Quality Manager with over 16 years industry related experience in his profession. He has held senior Quality Management roles in Automotive, Aeronautical, Transformer and the Oil &Gas industries. Angus holds a B.Sc in Quality Assurance from Sligo IT and also an MBA from the Open University.


Emer Nolan: Business Management

Emer has spent a large part of her career in the sectors of business analysis and operations management. During her career Emer has worked with famous companies such as Microsoft and Eircom. In her current position Emer acts as a senior program manager for Microsoft. Emer draws upon her academic and employment background to reinforce her lectures in the field of business management.


Emer Duhy: Human Resources

Having worked in a variety of HR roles including acting as a training specialist, a training and development manager, as well as filling a HR director delegate  position Emer has tackled varied HR roles throughout her career. Emer also has a wealth of experience in the areas of lecturing with previous experience working for the Institute of Technology Blanchardstown and the Grafton College of Management Sciences.



Victoria Doyle: Retail Operations Management

Graduate ship of the marketing institute of Ireland.

 Victoria has a variety of experience managing people, purchasing, sales, marketing, product development and sourcing, budgeting, and developing customer.supplier relationships. She has held key retail management positions in the likes of Baby Elegance, Perrem Design Hardware, Balmar, Hickeys Fabrics and Home Focus, and Arnotts.



Conor Ward: Sub-Editing

Conor currently works as the news department sub-editor for the Irish Sun. He has several years sub editing experience with the Irish Independent as well as more experience engaging in freelance journffalim working for multiple clients

Josephine has worked in the roles of Software/Quality Engineer, Senior Software Engineer and as Project Manager. Jerry is an experienced lecturer and trainer with over twenty years experience. Jerry has been lecturing on Safety in Construction since 2001. Some of Jerrys previous employment roles included acting as Business Safety Manager at SSE, acting as Health, Safety and Quality Manager at Anthony Reddy Associates, and acting as the HR and Safety Manager at Alcrete ltd.



Fiona Cregan: Health & Safety

Colette has had a large amount of exposure to the world of forensic science and crime scene investigation. She had worked with various american police agencies including Montgomery County Police Department and the Washington Metropolitan Police Department.




Teresa Clyne Shanley: Forensic Psychology

Teresa has had a lifelong interest in law, body language and the psychology of crime. Being one of the only legally qualified female private investigators in Ireland Teresa changed her career focus towards the educational side to teach others about forensic psychology and criminology.

Karen Healy: Train the Trainer

Karen has a wealth of experience in the hotel sector having worked with various reputable chains including the Hilton and Conrad hotels. Karen hosts a variety of Train the Trainer sessions across Ireland and has engaged in a variety of CPD holding certs in training and development as well as disability awareness.

Adam holds a variety of health and safety qualifications ranging from postgraduate qualifications to a masters in environmental health and safety management. Adam has held the position of health and safety manager for well known companies including Seamus Monahan & Partners as well as Panda Waste.


James Plunkett: Digital Forensics

James has a wealth of professional and educational experience in the ICT sector possessing over 15 years experience working in the field of ICT. During that time James has focusing on the areas of strategic alignment, ICT architecture and design, software solution delivery and digital forensic case management. James possess' a wealth of educational experience in the field of ICT as evidenced by his MSc. in Forensic Computing and Cyber Investigation, and his Bachelor of Business Studies and Information Systems Management. On top of these qualifications James is also a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, a Certified Digital Forensic Examiner, and a Citrix Certified Administrator.


Sean Browne: Marketing and Sales


Sean Browne is an experienced practitioner in marketing and sales and was sales and marketing director for a number of multi national organisations. Over a period of 15 years Sean worked in over 30 countries on mergers, acquisitions, business expansion programmes, sales force development and NPD. He runs a management consultancy and is a SME mentor for Enterprise Ireland's International Selling Programme. He has designed and delivered sales and marketing training seminars in conjunction with D.I.T. and private corporations. Sean has worked with over 40 Irish Companies in the last 7 years on business expansion projects.



Sarah Gilmartin: Freelance and Feature Writing

Sarah is a freelance arts journalist who works for a range of national media in Ireland. She writes a weekly column on new fiction for the Irish Times and contributes arts reviews and features to the website. Sarah also reviews for the Sunday Business Post and TV3's Ireland:AM. She lectures in journalism at DCU and CMI.

Michael Moore: Criminal Investigation


Michael Moore is currently a Detective Inspector in An Garda Siochanna and head of the Document & Handwriting Examination Section in the Garda Technical Bureau. He has been a Forensic Document examiner for over 20 years and has given evidence in many court cases during this time as an expert witness. He is also the Quality Manager for the Garda Technical Bureau which includes The Garda Fingerprint Section, Ballistics Section, Forensic LIaison Office, Garda Mapping Section and the Garda Photographic Ssection, and is a certified quality auditor and technical assessor.

JP Hilliard: Business Management


JP is a highly qualified, results orientated Senior Project Manager with over 19 years' project experience in Ireland and the middle East in programme and project management.
